I attended a train show here in the Grand Rapids area
and found this Pennsylvania
GG1 5 stripe tuscan red loco
with the No. 4912 at a very attractive price.
It was brand new in the K-line box dated 2001
I purchased the loco and it runs very well but no sounds
I imagine this is the way it was set up.
It does not have a place for smoke.
The No. was K-2780-4912C
If anyone has anything to add to this let me know

Lou

On March 10, 2009 02:49 PM, Chuck Hawley thinks that something is not accurate:

This 4935 GG1 and the 4907 Tuscan GG1 are both TMCC. They have Railsounds, Command Control, Electro Couplers, and Vertical Can Motors.

The 4912IC and the 4892IC are Tuscan and Green respectively. They say they are Command Control upgradable, but they have simple electronic fwd/rev units in them. They have vertical can motors. No mother board. The frame however, is drilled for speaker and board mounting. The operating coupler mounting hardware is not compatible with the upgrade Electro Couplers.
Properly upgraded, they would be identical with the 4935 and the 4907 TMCC versions. Same frame, motors, and all.

BTW, the 4907 is a single stripe tuscan and the 4912 is a five stripe tuscan.

Great looking engine, but, where do you get parts for it? The one I have is missing trucks for all drive wheels. Please advise.

Try Brasseur for parts.
They bought all the original K-Line parts and have a pretty good stock.
