The aerodynamic GG1, designed by noted industrial designer Raymond Loewy, is now available in wrapped in patriotic colors and displaying the Great Seal of the United States. Carrying the gold-colored Pennsylvania name and stripe, this engine has been renumbered 1776.

While the Pennsylvania Railroad was no longer in existence during the Bicentennial Celebration of 1976, this is the perfect time to show their pride in America with this colorful engine and caboose. Most major railroads supported the country’s needs in time of crisis and celebration, so it is likely that Pennsy would have painted a patriotic engine to honor the founding of the USA.

This die cast engine features dual vertical motors with flywheels, prototypically correct doors and ladders, operating headlight, operating marker lights and working pantographs. To complete the package, this engine plays “God Bless America” at the push of a button. A fully operational engine, this will look great in any collection or on any layout.
